FAQs

  • Initial appointments are 1 hour in length. Follow up appointments can be either booked for 30, 45 mins or 1 hour. The longer appointments are recommended if you’d like to go over self care exercises you can do at home, that are based on myofasical lines of movement.

  • Typically, I recommend booking 3 or 4 follow up sessions after the initial assessment in order to adequately assess if this form of therapy is for you. After that point if both you and Courtney decide you are benefiting from the treatments, she can determine whether you need only maintenance treatments (once every 1-6 months) or whether you can benefit from more regular treatments (ranging from once/week to once every 2-3 weeks).

  • Osteopathic Manual Practitioners work with a wide range of patients who are have a variety of diseases & conditions. However, Osteopathic practitioners do not treat any disease directly. Rather, we treat the entire body to improve it’s ability to self-heal. Each body is unique and as such, Manual Osteopaths do not have one treatment protocol for specific conditions. We treat each person according to their individual physical structure and I often recommend booking an initial assessment to better see if Osteopathy is a good fit for you. You are also welcome to phone or email me directly to discuss your specific issue further. For a list of conditions that have been helped by Osteopathy, please see the section entitled “Osteopathy” on the homepage of this website.
